Caddo Lake

April 26, 2011

Bass fishing has been great we are catching good numbers of fish each day over the 18 inch slot, Bass are in all stages right now and can be caught on a variety of pattern's, The frog bite has been great over the last couple of week and continues to be our go to pattern for numbers up shallow. Jigs in blk blue, blk brn amber with craw trl, are working very well on single cypress trees, soft plastic creature baits in any of the watermelon combos are working great as well. Calm mornings fluke's, senko's, thrown around lily pads and grass shallow have been keeping our rod's bent for us.

Crappie are plentiful and should stay that way on the main lake until the water temps get in the 90's then the river channel is where we will find them moving to. Jigs have been working best for me as they always do we have been having half day trips lately with catches in the 60 to 70 range early to mid day, blk chrt, salt and pepper are good choices on colors we all have our go to colors for Crappie I'm sure you will be very successful on your favorite colors. Areas that have been best for us have been trees in 4 to 6 ft of water if you can find a stump next to a tree you may find a school of Crappie in a area like this.
